James K. Maloney, 94

LAWRENCE — James K Maloney, 94, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, passed away on Monday September 11, 2006 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH.  He was born in Lawrence and educated in Lawrence schools.  He was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1929.  Mr. Maloney worked for the Wood Mill in Lawrence, in the Combing Room. During this time he was a Golden Gloves boxer.  At one time he was employed by the Champion International Paper Company, which supplied National Geographic Magazine.  He worked for the Lawrence Fire Department as an ambulance driver and then chauffeured Engine 7 at the Park St Station in Lawrence.  Mr. Maloney retired after 30 years of service in November, 1976.  He was the husband of the late Sally K. (Kacenas) Maloney and leaves one son, James S. and his wife Faith Maloney of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and one daughter, Kathleen Twombly and her husband Stanley of Salem, NH.

ARRANGEMENTS:  A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 12, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  A burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.  Friends may call on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence
